Who is Gary Vaynerchuk and Why Should You Care?

Who is Gary Vaynerchuck and Why should you care?
I was introduced to Gary Vaynerchuk by a fellow Twitterer, Bill Mitchell.  I was on Twitter late one night and he was kind enough to tweet me, “I think you might like this Video.”  He was absolutely right and as they say, ‘The Rest is History”.

Watch this video and after viewing it, if you can honestly tell me that you haven’t caught the passion, care, and message Gary is sending…  I encourage you to stop reading this post.

Warning: Some Profanity

So….You decided to read on. Congrats!  As you can imagine, I was moved, I was emotional and best of all I was completely PUMPED!  Gary put words to what I already believed to be true, what I practice and how I’ve always decided to conduct myself in every aspect of my life.  I instantly connected with what Gary was saying and watched the vid over and over and OVER again!   I just felt like he got it and better yet could explain it.  If you haven’t figured “IT” out yet, I mean caring.

There are lots of things that one might say about Gary, but you cannot deny the passion and caring he has for his business and his fans.  He lives his ideas of ‘Put Yourself Last’ and ‘Legacy is Greater than Currency’.  This idea of caring that deeply is not only true, but it is essential for success in the world we live in. If you chase that dollar first, you will always come out last. If you care about people first, you always WIN because you know what is really important, Legacy.

BUT, and there is a BIG BUT.
It has to be authentic and it has to, I mean it REALLY has to come from the heart….without heart you have nothing. I’ve always loved the saying, “Character is what you do when you think no one is watching.” I find it sums up what Gary is saying and how I strive to act.

Take a look at this much more recent video to see a glimpse of where his authenticity, caring and hard work or “Hustle” has taken him to now.

All because he put people first, and didn’t chase the dollar first.

Another favorite quote of mine: Passion and Patience-Gary Vaynerchuk

Gary Vaynerchuk’s caring, hustle and hard work, have connected with me on such a deep level.  I truly believe in his idea that if you care enough to always do the right thing, no matter what, you will always come out alright. Not to say there are not serious challenges and many curve balls thrown our way, but your chances are always better if you live your life and do your business with caring and integrity.  I really appreciate Gary for reminding me of that every single day.

As you can imagine, I am extremely excited to have the privilege of actually meeting Gary face to face in Oklahoma City on Friday, November 20th. Gary actually helped build community from afar through the launch of his new book and tour which created OKcrushIT. The efforts of these people’s Passion, Patience, Caring and Hustle are Amazing.

This is certainly not the last you will hear about Gary V on this blog, but I thought after all of my tweets and facebook posts I’d share why I am so passionate about Gary and what he stands for.  Would love to know what you think in the comments section.

I agree. Gary is a truly moving and inspiring person. Great post.
  • Thanks Jackson! Appreciate That!
  • Dan, I agree. I consider myself a pretty enthusiastic guy but then there's @garyvee... I recall listening to a @GuyKawasaki presentation a couple of years ago where he said, "If you set out to make meaning, you will make meaning and you will make money. If you set out to make money, you won't make meaning and you won't make money." That seems to mirror Gary's belief that ‘Legacy is Greater than Currency.’
Thanks for your post. Now, back to hustling... ; )
